Query Monitor

Sitexploration is now equipped with a query monitor. The way that it works is that when you are in link search you search for the domain you want to follow over time. It is really good practice to set a nofollow filter if you see a large number of nofollow links; otherwise, they may interfere with the monitoring.

When you have the exact query ready, go into monitors and select “Create query campaign”. Your query will follow you in, and you should normally be able to give your campaign a name. Every day, Sitexploration will carry out the same search, and you can thus follow the desired links over a period of time.

The example below shows monitoring of Zooka.dk with a Pro Account.

total links

Here, you can see the total number of links and the links with an anchor text. They almost follow the same path which more or less tells you that there are not very many image links. In addition, the number of no follow links is almost zero.

AnchorDistribution

Here, you can see how these anchor texts are distributed across domains, and the anchor text is spread in text variance. A good tip is not to place all your eggs in the one basket, so to speak.

On this graph, you can see the number of new and lost links over a period of time. As the graph shows, a fair number of links were lost on the 25th. As to whether these links were of any significance overall or not can be seen below.

Links

As you can see, Zooka.dk lost a good number of no follow links and a couple of links that were otherwise fine. On the other hand, a handful of new links appeared on the same day (their value can then be discussed).
